Authorities Evacuate Residents, Close Roads For Gas Leak
WESTERVILLE, Ohio—A gas leak has caused road closings and residential evacuations in Westerville early Tuesday afternoon.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
The first gas leak was on the 200 block of Myrtle Drive.
Westerville fire evacuated area residents and authorities closed two roads shortly after noon.
North Otterbein Avenue remains closed north and south of Myrtle Drive at 12:30 p.m.
East College Avenues also was closed for a short time.
Residents were allowed to reenter their homes before 12:40 p.m.
Crews contained the first leak at about 12:15 p.m.
Columbia Gas was called to a second gas leak at Maxtown Road and McCorkle Boulevard. The gas was shutoff at about 12:15 p.m.
There weren’t any evacuations or closings for the second gas leak.
No more immediate information was available.
