Authorities Search For Homicide Suspect

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Authorities searched a Southeast Side neighborhood for a homicide suspect Monday evening.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

SWAT teams were searching for homicide suspect Fred Brooks the area of Wendover Drive in Madison Township.

Brooks is a suspect in the weekend fatal beating of Christie Lyles, his girlfriend and mother to two of his children.

Madison Twp. police called for Columbus police’s SWAT team shortly before 5 p.m.

Authorities were working off a tip that man resembling Brooks went into a garage on Wendover Drive.

SWAT searched the home and garage, but didn’t find Brooks.

Nearby Chatterdon Road was closed for more than an hour during the incident.

Authorities cleared the scene shortly before 6 p.m.
