Residents: Pesky Problem Crawls Its Way Across Complex

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Residents said a pesky problem has crawled its way through an apartment complex and they only hear excuses from management.

NBC 4 reported on WHERE THE PROBLEM STANDS.

Wedgewood Village residents said they can’t keep the bed bugs from biting.

Alandon White called NBC 4 about the problem.

He said his apartment has been infested with the bugs for weeks.

The West Side resident said they are in his furniture, his carpets and his clothes.

He said his children are suffering the most because they have dozens of bites across their bodies.

During NBC 4’s interview with White, other residents stopped by to say they’re experiencing the same problem.

Tenants said they’ve reached out to apartment management and only have received excuses. 

“They can’t get a hold of the pest control to even put in a request. Then, after that if they do get a hold of it, it takes two weeks to reply to the request,“ White said.

“I don’t think they’ve handled it at all. Honestly, I think they can do a lot better,” tenant Christopher Dixon said.

NBC 4 set out to get answers.

Managers at the rental office told NBC 4 to get in touch with a representative at Home Properties of Boston, Mass.

Home Properties owns the apartment complex.

NBC 4 left two messages with the contact person and gave her more than 24 hours to return the call. The call had not been returned as of late Tuesday night.
