Bomb Squad Called To Investigate Black Box

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Authorities were called to the city’s Northeast Side Monday after a suspicious package was found.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Columbus fire and police were called to the area of Walford and Fenton streets near the old Northland Mall before 11:45 a.m. on reports of a black box found in the road.

The CFD bomb squad was called to the scene.

The bomb squad detonated the package and found nothing suspicious.

Authorities cleared the scene by 1:15 p.m.

Traffic in the area was restricted during the investigation.

NBC 4 first reported three area homes were evacuated, but on-scene authorities said that wasn’t the case.

No more immediate information was available.

THERE IS NOTHING IN THAT AREA THAT IS WORTH ANYTHING TO BOMB, UNLESS YOU’RE BOMBING ROACHES AND MICE
