OK, let me re-phrase that. I am not surprised.
donna. One of the highlights of the Red, White & Boom! celebration always is the soundtrack that accompanies the Boom!
are you kidding. read what everyone is saying. i have been getting some lip service for my comment. one guy says be glad for what you got. people drove 300 miles to see this. well to you sir. they saw a great fireworks show…but they heard a very bad sound track…the songs should all be PATRIOTIC..and the people of columbus do not have to settle for what they get..this is AMERICA and we earned the right to expect better form those who are in charge of this show… one lady said if i didnt have a good time it was my fault..to her read all of the comment ..not the part you want…a good time would have been just fireworks…a celebration of our Independence..and the music should reflect that..and if you want to hear something else, turn on your radio and listen to something else..what are you celebrating…a night out? people, i am just saying celebrate to your fullest with what it is meant to be, INDEPENDENCE DAY!. NOT The Terminator/Countdown
Boom Boom Pow BEP
Get Back Beatles Star Trek TNG
Thunderstruck AC/DC
Burnin Up Jonas Brothers
Signed, Sealed, Delivered Stevie Wonder

Why am I not surprised?
I am proud to be an American by Lee Greenwood i love that song
I truly enjoyed Red, white & boom but was very disappointed in the fact so few patriotic songs were included in the sound track. Even my grandchildren remarked that they didn’t sing many ‘country’ songs. Please next year use only patriotic music/songs—that is what the 4th of July/Independence day is for. We need to stand up and sing and thank God for the sacrifices our men, women and children have given so we all have the Freedoms we have.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to see the fireworks on TV but PLEASE return to patriotic music.

To dawn….I agree about the songs…There should be Only patriotic,....
I have some news, Sandi Patty is still sensational, not just then but now also…In my eyes and ears as a singer no one will ever do it better…Your opinion is yours…Mine is mine..
And what is wrong with keeping things like they were?? That’s part of the problem with this country,.. wanting to change things all the time..If SOME things were the same, we wouldn’t be in the shape we are in…
I didn’t here Ray Charles’ rendition of America (Oh Beautiful for spacious skies)..I think that should be played forever…I love it…
Once again, I only posted to have a voice on the selection of Songs not the singers…I don’t care if Grandma Moses sings them, Keep them Patriotic..
I have to agree with “diamondhair1” and “dawn”: The fireworks themselves are spectacular—and face it, that’s why people come—but the soundtrack is truly a mess. It has some good moments; but in an attempt to be “relevant” (WNCI’s take on what “relevant” means, anyway), it mixes in selections that (although they may be OK pieces on their own) have NOTHING AT ALL to do with what Independence Day is all about. The result is a frequently offensive mishmash that usually (as it did this year) makes me turn down the sound on the TV and just watch the fireworks. I realize that WNCI helps pay for “Red, White, and Boom”—but can’t their programmers pay respect to our country by sticking with selections that truly reflect the nature of the holiday?
I have always liked the firework display that columbus has put on, except for the last few years. i have stopped going altogether. i did however watch last night and honestly felt no patriotism at all. i agree with diamondhair1 on only one thing. i think there should be nothing but pattriotic songs played. i was disappointed in the choice of songs, particularly the queen song, and i happen to like queen, about beelzubub, which is another name for the devil. i can appreciate the attempt by those who put the songs together to be “ethnically sensitive”, however, i feel like they miserablly failed. Jennifer Hudson is sensational, just as i’m sure sandy patti was at one time. I think this state needs to rooted out of it’s old, hard, traditional sterotyping predjudice ways, and be replanted in harmonious, new, inspritational togetherness.
I Love Red, White, and Boom but can’t for the life of me understand why we cannot listen to only Patriotic songs for 20 minutes….Why add any other songs? Fireworks are the sign of our independence…We shouldn’t be hearing any Stevie Wonder, Beatles, Boom Boom Pow or Kanye West..I have talked to many people and I am not the only one who thinks this way….Please…Are these Patriotic songs….Let’s get back to what fireworks stand for….Our Independence..Jennifer Hudson’s National Anthem was ok but No one will ever do the National Anthem like Sandy Patti did/does…..
