GENOA TOWNSHIP, Ohio—Several area schools went into a level-1 lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a brief police pursuit.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
A homeowner arrived at his home in the area of Lewis Center Road and old 3-C Highway and saw a pickup truck with two men inside in his driveway. The homeowner called the authorities, and the suspects fled the area in a pickup truck, according to Genoa Township police.
The Delaware County sheriff’s office put out a description on the vehicle shortly after noon.
A deputy spotted the vehicle on Lewis Center Road north of the Alum Creek Reservoir’s beach.
There was a brief pursuit.
Authorities said the suspects bailed out while the truck still was running. The truck hit a pole.
The suspects fled in different directions.
A K-9 sniffed out one of the suspects near the reservoir.
That suspect was taken to Grant Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
A second suspect remains on the loose.
He was described as a Hispanic male who was wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
Several schools went into a level-1 lockdown during the police pursuit and search for the suspect.
The schools affected were Olentangy Orange middle and high schools, Alum Creek Elementary, Oak Creek Elementary, Freedom Trail Elementary and Glenn Oak Elementary.
The level-1 lockdown meant all exterior doors were locked and students were kept inside for recess. Dismissal was not affected.

The police are still looking for the guy from the air. They have both an airplane and a helicopter looking for him in the Alum Creek State Park area. If you live in that area, lockdown tight with locked doors and windows and if you have an alarm, TURN IT ON!!!
