CINCINNATI—Police in Cincinnati say a 2-year-old girl found in the cold by a bus driver had strayed from the nearby home of her baby sitter.

The driver spotted the girl wearing a pink sweater but without a coat or shoes as she stood by the side of a busy street Tuesday night, when temperatures were in the 20s. He called police and brought the girl inside his bus, where passengers layered the child with clothes to warm her up.

Teenage sitters who had been looking for the girl arrived a short time later, but police sent the toddler to a hospital to make sure she was OK. She was released and no charges were filed.
