COLUMBUS, Ohio—Are you looking for seasonal work this summer?

Columbus’ Department of Recreation and Parks said it’s hiring currently.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Department director Alan McKnight said 90 percent of the 30 to 45 seasonal jobs were to be in park maintenance and include trimming, weeding and cutting grass.

The eight-week jobs pay $9 an hour.

All of the monies to pay those seasonal workers came from the federal government.

“Well, obviously, the city budget is a bit challenging. Rec and Parks had to reduce the seasonal budget. So, we’re not hiring nearly as many with city dollars. This allows us maybe to bring in folks this year,” McKnight said.

Jobseekers should be prequalified through Central Ohio Workforce Investment Corporation.
