4 In Custody In Gun Club Theft Probe
Four people were taken into custody Saturday in connection with a break-in and theft at an area gun club.
COLUMBUS, Ohio—The day after a $5,000 reward was issued for information connected to the break-in and theft of $30,000 worth of guns and knives from a Delaware gun club, Columbus police SWAT officers executed a warrant at a west-side house and took four people into custody.
Delaware officials confirmed that the activity in Columbus was related to the gun club theft, but would not confirm that the two men and two women were under arrest.
“It’s early in the investigation,“ said a spokeswoman for Delaware County Sheriff Walter Davis.
The investigation was the result of a break-in Monday night at the Black Wing Shooting Center west of the city of Delaware. Missing after the break-in were 35 guns and 200 knives.
Investigators were looking for information about a vehicle that witnesses said was parked on the highway not far from the shooting center early on the morning of the theft.
