Council Approves Funding For Kingsdale Redevelopment
UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio —According to Upper Arlington officials, there have been 15 years of debate over what to do with Kingsdale shopping center.
City Council voted unanimously to let Continental Real Estate—a local developing company—purchase the shopping center from its current Florida owner, Regency, for $20 million.
The City of Upper Arlington approved spending $5.3 million to facilitate office development for the property.
The funding will be added to $15.7 million being spent by Continental in construction. It will be used once considerable construction is completed on the property.
A brand-new Giant Eagle is in the works for the Kingsdale Shopping Center. The grocer could be installed in the center by 2010.
