Columbus police releases the names of the officers who were involved in a shooting early Saturday.

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Columbus police released the names of the officers who were involved in a shooting early Saturday.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS Monday.

Columbus officers were called to the 1800 block of Oak Street on the city’s East Side.

That was a little after 5 a.m. Saturday.

CPD said Officer Michael Ulrich and Officer Carrie Arauco fired at 30-year-old Bernard Wright after he started fighting with officers while holding a handgun.

Wright was struck in the torso and taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition.

The shooting remained under investigation by CPD’s critical-incident response team.

Both officers have been with CPD for seven years.
