PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio—Icy conditions caused a UPS tractor-trailer to take a dangerous turn Tuesday morning.

U.S. Route 23 is closed north of Circleville Tuesday. Only one southbound lane remained closed at 4:30 p.m.

The closing is at Deer Creek Bridge and happened close to 8 a.m.

NBC 4’s Mike Bowersock reported a UPS with a double trailer jackknifed and was hanging off the side of the bridge from U.S. 23 to state Route 22. It was being pulled back on the roadway at noon.

Bowersock said it was hanging precariously over a guardrail and could have rolled down the hill at any time.

The driver wasn’t hurt.

NBC 4 cannot confirm the closing’s duration. Many drivers were stuck on the route with no way to exit.
