CHILLICOTHE, Ohio—A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after a deer ran out in front of him Sunday afternoon.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Freddie M. Reedy, 54, of Rarden, was operating a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on U.S. Route 23 at Eastern Avenue.

He struck a deer that was trying to cross the roadway. Reedy next struck the roadway and a concrete bridge rail.

The one-vehicle crash happened at 3:26 p.m., according to troopers.

Reedy was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Chillicothe post.

He suffered a head injury.

Reedy was transported from the scene to Adena Regional Medical Center by Scioto Township EMS and later flown to OSU Medical Center Main by Med-Flight.

Reedy remained still in serious condition early Monday.

Reedy was operating his motorcycle with a suspended license, troopers said.

The crash remained under investigation.

The right to choose to wear a helmet I believe is agreeable. Choosing not to wear one, not so much.

crickett:  It is a simple case of “the truth hurts” and people who can’t take it but sure can dish it out.  If you are going to post on any website, you better be prepared for people to disagree with your comments.  If you are easliy offended and closed monded, don’t open your mouth and post.  It’s plain and simple.

I don’t see why people tell others to shut up on here.  That aggrivates me.  This is a place for comments and opinions.  It was an unfortunate accident, he was under unfortunate circumstances.  But I don’t see where police would lie about suspended license.

“He wasn’t a suspended driver” (your comment)

That pretty much sums up the facts from the news and police!!!
Maybe you should read the article better.

To Chico and Baze:
HAHAHAHAHA - Great Comments :)

has anyone tried those deer whistle things you can put on your car to deter the deer from running into you? just wondering if those work…

my daughter hit a deer last month or should I say that it hit her. Damaged was over $2500. It ran into the side of her car. By the way one ran into me also this month. So it is the deers causing the problems not the drivers.

No helmet; check.
No license; check.
Hardley-Ableson; check.

Yep, fits the ‘profile’.  The toxicology report will probably be typical too.

To Chico,

Don’t say stuff if you don’t know all the facts.  He wasn’t a suspended driver.  And even if he was, it’s not a funny event AT ALL.  He is my father in-law.  So for all of you who want to run your mouth, don’t unless you know the facts.  You don’t get all the facts from the cops and the news.  So just shut up.

the rumor is that the deer was running from the grandma who was chasing it with a shovel.  Must have been in her garden again.

WHAT A DUMMY NOT WEARING A HELMET.
WONDER IF THE DEER IS OKAY?
IF ONLY MORE DEER COULD CATCH SUSPENDED DRIVERS LIKE THIS MORE OFTEN
