Deputy Finds $3,520 On Roadway
COLUMBUS, Ohio—A deputy spotted some serious cash on a South Side roadway and was able to recover it for an elderly woman.

Sheriff Karnes states on Monday 06/01/09 at approximately 12:00 pm,
A Franklin County sheriff’s deputy was patrolling the area of Noe Bixby Road and Warminster Drive at about noon Monday.
He discovered what appeared to be U.S. currency in the roadway.
The deputy stopped multiple lanes of traffic while ordering the motorists to remain in their vehicles.
He collected the $20 and $100 bills, which totaled $3,520.
After collecting the money and resuming normal traffic flow, the deputy checked the area for potential owners.
He made contact with an elderly female who was walking along the roadside, visibly upset and panicking at what she described as losing her money while on the way to the bank for deposit.
She positively identified the money increments and the money was returned.
