Driver Killed When Truck Overturned, Burst Into Flames

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio—Officials are investigating a fatal crash in Pike County early Thursday.

The crash occurred on U.S. 23 at milepost 16 at about 1:55 a.m.

According to the Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 2003 Dodge truck was traveling northbound on U.S. 23 when it veered from the left side of the roadway, striking a guardrail, drain grate and tree. The vehicle then overturned, causing it to burst into flames.

The unidentified occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County coroner.

The crash remains under investigation.
