YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio—Former Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann says he’s had professional counseling since he resigned from office a year ago. In an interview published Sunday by The Youngstown Vindicator, Dann says he believes he could have fought off efforts to impeach and remove him from office. He says he resigned because that would have taken too much time away from effectively managing the attorney general’s office and from repairing his relationships with his wife and children.
The Youngstown-area Democrat resigned in May 2008 amid a sexual harassment scandal in his office. He acknowledged having an affair with an employee and was accused of fostering an unprofessional work environment.

The key phrase is: Mr. Dann believed he could have fought impeachment in the courts but chose not to in order that those filling his shoes could get on with the business at hand and not tie all that up and waste lots of money. I don’t like, at all, the activities Mr. Dann participated in and allowed to happen in his office, but I do give him credit for trying to repair damage to his family.
Good For His Family
But why do most public officials never seek help i.e. counseling until “issues” emerge.
Why is it so hard to understand? Actually I mean it is morelike, what part isn’t there to understand? All the mishaps happened under Dann’s authoritative self label…his own sense of the term, Power. Though he is a consumer’s edgy kind of lawyer, that is a good quality to have and to use towards protecting others. But Mismanagement of a State Gov’t level or office, is something we truly can’t afford anymore…times have been, and currently are, rough. Since these mishaps happened under Dann’s position, It’s going to always be a scarring that he has to get over and live with it. Just move on already. If he thinks going to court is going to help him move forward, then it seems that he needs to move forward on his own… we all have trials in life, but we should always know when its time to pick up the pieces that are left and just move forward on our own…
