COLUMBUS, Ohio—A family escaped a roaring house fire on Clime Road overnight.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

The house in the 2600 block of Clime Road in southwest Columbus caught fire around 1 a.m. Monday.

The resident of the home, Joe Nelson, told NBC 4 his son and nephew heard a noise. While investigating the noise, they saw fire on the back porch and ran to wake Nelson up.

“At first, I ran to get the fire extinguisher in the kitchen to run and put the fire out, but the whole back part of the house was on fire. So we ran outside and called the fire department,” Nelson said.

Everyone made it out of the house safely.

Fire officials have not determined the cause of the fire.

The Red Cross was called in to help the family.
