A Columbus family is taking good news to a whole new level.COLUMBUS, Ohio —A Columbus family is taking good news to a whole new level.
Good news came via some bad news for Connie Farabaugh.
She said her family fell victim to credit card merchant fraud at her husband’s chiropractic office. It was like a black cloud hanging over them and she was forced to look for the silver lining to brighten her husband’s day.
“I just sought out anything positive around us and I would call him and say, ‘Hey! Good News! Someone got an A on a test,‘“ Farabaugh said.
The phrase caught on and she looked for good news everywhere.
“Just any minor thing that I could find to kind of put a little positive peace in his day while dealing with this situation,“ she said.
She took it a step further from home to the office.
“We sat our whole staff down and challenged them to respond differently and respond with any piece of good news they can find,“ she said.
They put the good news up on the wall every day.
Then, Connie took it to the Internet.
She just launched her web site—the Good News Game—which is all about sharing good news.
She took a challenge in her life and turned it into a challenge to find good news at every turn.
“It’s changed my life just in the way that I really enjoy affecting people positively. Here at the office, we affect them physically, but if you can help them emotionally too. Times are challenging, but if you can find the good things, I think that’s ideal,“ she said.
