Topless At Comfest: Take It Off Or Leave It On?

This year, a group is using the Comfest platform to encourage more women to lose their tops.

COLUMBUS, Ohio—It is legal for a woman to go topless in Columbus.  And every year some choose to use that right at Community Festival (Comfest).

This year, GoTopless.org is using the Comfest platform to encourage more women to lose the top.

Some parents say they will keep their families away because of what they could see, while others are using the opportunity to show others they believe there is nothing to hide.

Lauren Damon is a new mother, and is organizing a nurse-in for mothers to be able to breastfeed in public.

Her group will set up at Goodale Park this weekend during Comfest to try and breakdown stigmas associated with breastfeeding.

Some are more understanding of mothers nursing, while saying they are not comfortable with women showing their breasts just because they can.

Others say if a man can go topless, so can women.

There is always going to be an argument about going topless and breastfeeding in public.  Those two topics are two totally different arguments.

I could care less if someone wants to walk around in Columbus with no top on.  If i dont want to see it, then I dont look.

Breastfeeding mothers, on the other hand, shouldnt have to cover up, or go to the bathroom to feed their baby while in public.  It’s the childs right to eat, and it’s the mothers obligation to the child.  A breastfeeding mother is able to do so in public without exploiting her entire breast.  Mothers who feed their childen from a bottle never get nasty looks, so why should a breastfeeding mother?
I applaud breastfeeding moms who feed their children in public.  I wish I was still breastfeeding, because i’d sit in.

Bottom line, if you dont want to see it, then dont look.

Because 9 out of 10 times down there you cant tell if it’s a man or a woman going topless.

If it’s legal then why do they only do it at Comfest?
