CLINTONVILLE, Ohio—A Clintonville movie house Sunday showed what started out to be a college project for a Heath High School graduate and ended up being a mock-horror film shot in Licking County and starring the filmmaker’s friends.
A colorful poster at Studio 35 in Clintonville shows the film’s villain, the “evil turkey,“ with a look of blood lust in his eyes.
He’s the antagonist in “Thankskilling,“ whose story line follows a group of five college students on the way home from school for the Thanksgiving holiday who are stalked by a vengeful fowl whose aim is to pick them off, one by one.
The 70-minute movie cost $3,500 to make and follows the genre’s spooky music and bloody encounters.
The filmmakers, Jordan Downey and his friend Kevin Smith, attended the Sunday showing in Clintonville along with some of the cast.
Downey says people seem to get that the movie is deliberately cheesey.
He’s home on a holiday visit but will return to California where he’s trying to make more serious scary movies.
“Thankskilling” is being distributed online by Gravitas. Trailers can be seen on YouTube.

AWESOME MOVIE! FUNNY, GOREY, CORNY.
For a low budget, this movie had amazing music, graphics and cinematography. Beside the turkey having a HILARIOUS attitude, the HONORS have to go RYAN FRANCIS!! He was a natural, a smooth actor that made you feel he wasnt acting.
This silly low-budget movie is worth seeing for a late night laugh.
