COLUMBUS, Ohio—The lottery lawsuit brewing in Piqua has many office pool players looking for options.  After four colleagues say they were under a verbal agreement to be in the pool, they are now filing a lawsuit against the $207 million winners who didn’t include them.  Without taking the right steps in setting up your pool, it’s very easy to run into legal problems.

Lawyers say there are steps you can take to make sure your pool doesn’t run into legal trouble.  First, make sure you have the names of all participants down on paper.  Also, be sure you make copies of all the tickets purchased.  And finally, be aware that verbal agreements are legal under certain conditions in Ohio.
