Man Dies In Licking Co. Ejection Crash

PATASKALA, Ohio—A man was killed and a woman was injured seriously when a vehicle crashed and landed on its top late Thursday.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Michael C. Guenther, 24, was driving an Acura Integra southbound on Columbia Road, north of U.S. Route 40, at about 11:43 p.m.

The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch, went airborne and landed on its top.

Guenther of Pataskala was ejected from the vehicle.

Passenger Anna Nicole Stephens, 28, was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by emergency personnel.

Stephens of Pataskala was flown to Grant Medical Center in serious condition.

Guenther was pronounced dead at the scene by the Licking County coroner’s office.

Troopers with the Granville post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Stephens was wearing her seat belt but Guenther was not.

The crash remained under investigation.

It simply boggles my mind that people do not wear seat belts! Cars today are so much safer but people refuse to use the safety devices? WHY?!!!!!!!
