DELAWARE, Ohio—A man was sentenced Friday after he was convicted in the fatal stabbing of another man.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Donovan Britton was sentenced in Delaware County court Friday.

He was sentenced to 30 years to life for the fatal stabbing of 52-year-old Mark Horn of Delaware.

A Delaware County jury convicted Britton, 31, Thursday, Jan. 16.

Britton was found guilty on a total of seven charges: two counts each of aggravated murder, one count of murder, one count of aggravated burglary and one of count kidnapping.

Horn’s neighbor made a 911 call Dec. 27, 2007. Horn was heard telling his neighbor he was stabbed by a man named Donovan on the call.

When Delaware County deputies arrived at the Hogback Road scene, they were met by Horn’s roommate who told authorities what he observed.

The roommate said he was awakened by loud noises. He observed a man, who was later identified as Britton, scuffling with Horn.

In an effort to keep the two from harming each other further, the roommate tried to break them apart and struggled with Britton himself.

Soon after, the assailant fled in his vehicle.

Horn, bleeding from his wound he received during the fight, fled to his neighbor’s residence for help.

Horn was transported to the Ohio State University Medical Center where he died of a single stab wound to the chest.

Britton was apprehended in Mansfield by Richland County Sheriff’s deputies Dec. 27.
