Man Killed In ATV Crash

NEW STRAITSVILLE, Ohio – The Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal ATV crash that occurred Friday night. 

In a release issued by the Highway Patrol, troopers say at approximately 10:30 p.m., 46-year-old Arthur Thompson of New Lexington was killed when he was riding an ATV northbound on Stone Church Hollow Road. 

Thompson failed to maintain control of the ATV and drove off the left side of the roadway, striking a large rock and a tree. 

Thompson was then transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan where he died from his injuries. 

Thompson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash, authorities said.
