Motorcyclist Dies In Crash With Car

COLUMBUS, Ohio—A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

All of the following information was taken from an official release.

The Franklin County sheriff’s office continued to investigate a fatal crash that happened at about 5:40 p.m. Thursday at Amity and Robert roads.

Tina L. Newsome, 40, of Columbus was traveling eastbound on Roberts Road in her 2000 Buick Century and had stopped at a stop sign for Amity Road.

Newsome pulled out from the stop sign to continue east and was struck by 60-year-old Robert G. Charnier of Hilliard.

Charnier was riding his 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Amity Road.

Amity Road north and south does not have a stop sign.

Charnier and Newsome both were transported to Doctor’s West Hospital.

Tina Newsome had minor injuries.

Charnier was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Alcohol, weather and speed were not suspected factors currently.

Seat belts were in use in the passenger car.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The crash remained under investigation.
