ASHVILLE, Ohio—A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night after being ejected from his bike in a two-vehicle crash.

The Pickaway County sheriff’s office continued to investigate a crash that occurred on U.S. Route 23 southbound, just north of Hagerty Road, shortly after 9 p.m. 

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation showed a 2009 Harley Davidson rear-ended a 2007 Honda Civic with five occupants.

Witnesses told deputies the motorcycle seemed to be traveling at a high rate of speed and the driver was unable to stop before hitting the Honda. 

The motorcyclist, 38-year-old Douglas Puckett, was ejected from the motorcycle during the crash.

He was transported to Berger Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The five occupants of the Honda were not injured in the crash.

The crash remained under investigation.
