Mott’s Military Museum Evacuated

Mott’s Military Museum on the city’s south side and area businesses have been evacuated.

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Mott’s Military Museum on the city’s south side was evacuated Thursday during a threat of live military explosives.

The incident began at the museum on South Hamilton Road at about 4:20 p.m., NBC 4 reported.

Earlier this week, a woman went to the museum to turn in memorabilia from her deceased husband. The memorabilia was at the facility for a few days when a worker examined it and thought the items may have been live ordinance and called fire officials.

The area, including workers at a dental office and five warehouses, was evacuated by the Franklin County Sheriff’s office.

The Columbus Division of Fire Bomb Squad responded to the scene and determined that the ammunition was not live.
