No Pay Raises For OSU Administrators

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Ohio State University is freezing the pay of President Gordon Gee and 18 members of his management team.

Instead of giving top administrators raises and bonuses, the university will instead put about $1 million toward student scholarships.

Gee’s base salary is $775,000 and his contract calls for a bonus option of up to 40 percent of his salary each year.

A memo from Provost Joseph Alutto says other faculty and staff will be eligible for merit raises targeted at 2.5 percent, but distributed at the discretion of managers.

Wright State University officials announced a few weeks ago that they would go without raises or bonuses.
