COLUMBUS, Ohio – Today at 8 a.m., the State of Ohio will auction various items at 4200 Surface Road.

The auction will be held at the Ohio Department of Administrative Services.  Auction items include computers, monitors, printers, typewriters, cameras, and other office equipment, including office furniture.

Purchased items must be paid for in full on Saturday and picked up by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10.

Surplus property auctions provide the general public an opportunity to purchase quality goods at reduced prices and enable the state to recoup a portion of its initial investment.  During the fiscal year of 2009, the state held multiple property and vehicle auctions generating nearly $2.5 million.

Would have been nice to know about this a couple of days ago!

shan, I’m sure that the hard drive isn’t the only thing missing from the computers(i.e.: memory, CD-ROMs, power supplies). To properly wipe a hard drive for reuse elsewhere is time consuming.

Make sure you check to see if harddrives have been removed from the computers(THE STATE IS REAL BAD ABOUT THIS! They don’t just wipe them anymore Them computer is USELESS WITHOUT the harddrive So be careful what you buy and remove the sidecover if you have to to inspect…...........
