Ohio City Says No Gun Show Violations Reported
Published: October 10, 2009
SHARONVILLE, Ohio—Sharonville officials say the city’s convention center has hosted gun shows for years without any sales violations reported by any law enforcement agencies.
The city near Cincinnati said Friday that it is continuing to work with the shows’ promoter to ensure all laws pertaining to gun sales are adhered to. On Thursday, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says private unlicensed gun dealers were captured on video selling weapons to undercover investigators who admitted they couldn’t pass background checks.
The stings were conducted at seven gun shows in Tennessee, Nevada and Ohio, including one at the Sharonville center. Bloomberg says the sting highlights a loophole that gun-control advocates say makes it easier for criminals to get guns.
