COLUMBUS, Ohio - Prices at Ohio gas pumps have jumped 12 cents in the last week, ahead of the busy Thanksgiving holiday travel period.

A survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express puts the current statewide average for regular-grade gasoline at $2.60 per gallon, up from $2.48 last Monday.

A holiday forecast from AAA looks for a nearly 3 percent increase in Ohioans taking Thanksgiving trips this year, reflecting improving consumer confidence in the economy.

Last year at this time, gas cost almost a dollar less in the state, with regular averaging about $1.74 per gallon.

During holiday season most prices increase such as gas prices. Its really true that vehicle cost a lot. For instance, pricing gas stations, or altering driving habits – for instance, taking it easy when accelerating or braking will increase your fuel efficiency, as well as maintain vehicles in better condition, as a car that’s driven carefully has less wear and tear, better fuel economy, and that will save money and bring a little debt relief for the owner.

This is terrible, the way they put these gas prices up on holidays. I fill up every three weeks now because I do not go anywhere anymore. For vacations I go to the places that are close by and only burn 1 tank of gas in a week.
