Ohio Judge Fighting To Save Law License
Published: October 27, 2009
COLUMBUS, Ohio—A northeast Ohio judge whose work has been criticized by fellow judges is fighting to keep his law license.
Portage County Municipal Court Judge John Plough got teary-eyed Monday in Columbus when he appealed to a judicial disciplinary panel to let him keep practicing law. Misconduct charges against Plough involve a fine against an attorney who asked for more trial preparation time and accusations of rudeness to people in his court and delayed record-keeping.
The 62-year-old judge apologized but says he has acted with the best intentions and that any document delays were due to computer problems.
Any disciplinary action could be determined by the Ohio Supreme Court.
