Ohio man gets stimulus money for rail project

HUDSON, Ohio—An Ohio man who got federal stimulus money to quiet train horns near his home says the request was a long shot that paid off. Greg McNeil made a request for $168,300 on behalf of his homeowners association. The project was one of 149 transportation projects the state selected to receive stimulus money - and the only one based on an application from a private citizen.
The money will be used to make safety upgrades at a railroad crossing so trains won’t have to blow their horns when they pass. The noise has been an issue for homeowners who live in Hudson and Macedonia. McNeil says he hopes the crossing project is finished by Labor Day.

People cant get their increased Unemployment amount and their retroactive pay, help with utilities to feeding their families,,and the tax dollars go to a railroad crossing..I believe in upgrades for safety but horn blowing?
PEOPLE ARE LOSING THEIR HOMES,,I thought the stimulus package was to help the people..after all we are paying for it..instead CEOs get bonuses and a man gets paid for gripping on something thats been there for years(RR CROSSING),,SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE..People need to gather signs and groups and tell them how mad we are getting…
thank you
..UNFAIR..
How does this stimulate the economy? I thought this is what the money was supposed to be used for.
More of our Tax dollars going down the tubes, this is about as stupid as all the money they gave for the Marsh Mouse
more government control we have banks TRYING to repay the TARP funds and the White House is refusing the payment
WAKE UP AMERICA
the country is in bad shape, send the money back, we don’t need it. we keep sending money we don’t have.
Good for Mr. Greg McNeil! Making a nearby rail crossing safer is money well spent. If the amount of noise is reduced as well even better!
Isnt that unreal..you buy a home by the tracks by a crossing and gripe about the horns and get paid..Are you people STUPID..I live by a crossing and id rather hear the horns than a car getting hit…should I gripe and get paid..funny thing I knew what i was buying and how close to the tracks.
The railroad has been there alot longer than you..get a life..now you have one with our tax dollars..use it for charity..
thank you
