Columbus Soldier Dies In Iraq

COLUMBUS, Ohio—A soldier from Central Ohio has died from injuries suffered during a noncombat-related incident in Iraq.

The Department of Defense said Monday that 30-year-old Spc. Marko M. Samson of Columbus died May 31 in Tikrit. The military says the circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.

Samson was assigned to the 277th Aviation Support Battalion, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.
