Otterbein College Gets Name Change

WESTERVILLE, Ohio—Gaining notoriety as a private school in national publications, Otterbein College announced a step forward that also took it to the beginning.
In 1847, Otterbein University was founded in Westerville.
In 1917, the name was changed to Otterbein College. But now with 3,100 students, numerous graduate and continuing studies degrees, first-year President Dr. Kathy Krendl said now is the time for Otterbein University.
There are two doctoral degree programs in the works as well at Otterbein.
The board of trustees voted unanimously in favor of the name change that takes effect this fall.
