Everybody has problems, but this was a purely selfish act.
Too bad for the driver, I hope he wasn’t drinking because otherwise he’d get the blame for someone else’s actions.
There are many sad facets to this story. There is so much public stigma attached to suicide. No doubt Mr. Benner’s family is wracked with grief and feelings of guilt, asking themselves where did they go wrong, why didn’t they do enough, etc. etc.; who were the witnesses? No doubt they are bashing themselves pretty harshly also; and the 19 year old that struck Mr. Benner - what a nightmare!! It tears me up and I wasn’t even there. Prayers all the way around. And prayers for everyone else contemplating suicide. It is hard enough for families to lose loved ones to pre-meditated murder, murder by rage or happenstance, or loss in war or loss to disease or surgery. It is very devastating to lose your loved one to suicide. PLEASE GET HELP, DON’T DO THIS TO EVERYONE ELSE.
i’m not down with the religious thing but i agree brodie. i hope he can move past it eventually. and it seems a stupid way to try to kill yourself. i think there was a good chance he could have survived and just been mangled. IF i was going to kill myself, i would pick a method i was more sure would result in a quick and painless death.
I agree Bodie. Thoughts and prayers to the 19 yr old and his family.
The sad part is a 19 yr old kid now has to face that he did hit and kill this guy even though it was no way his fault. Our thoughts and prayers should be with him.
