COLUMBUS, Ohio—Police found and charged the woman who allegedly left her infant daughter on the porch of an abandoned home in June.

A mail carrier found the newborn girl on the porch of a vacant house on Marble Drive, near Livingston Avenue at about 10 a.m. June 27.

Police said that on July 5, they received information that 24-year-old Nayeli Garcia was the mother of the infant.

Police went to Garcia’s workplace, interviewed her and said she allegedly admitted to leaving the newborn on the porch.

She was taken to Grant Medical Center for treatment and charged with one count of child endangering.

The infant has since been placed with a foster family.

No…what’s screwing up our nation are kids who go to the Rave Movies with their little clear empty water bottles to fill with alcohol.  Observing preteens and teens stumble over steps is mind blowing.  Watching the parents neglect them by dropping them off to a public babysitting arena just so they can get out of their hair is inexcusable.  Neglect and abuse happens in all social classes.

Give the woman 30 lashes and throw her back across the river!!!!!!!!!!!
Then sell her child to Madonna.

The woman’s position and the politics of the area are precisely WHY nothing came of it.

Had the woman been a minority, unemployed and in a beat up van, stopping in a bar foe a quick beer, children’s services and the prosecuting attorney would have been on her as yellow jackets on raw steak.

Such treatment has happened.

Child Endangering.  Tsk tsk tsk. ....
This reminds me of that assistant principal who accidently left her child in her van while completing a work day - the child died of course and this woman got NOTHING out of it.  .... And this woman was “educated”. Sheesh.

I am so saddened and appalled that someone would have such disregard for a human life. Even if the Mom was not aware of the Safe Haven laws in Ohio, I would think common decency and common sense should prevail. There are too many options to moms today if they can’t keep the babies. Too many children are being raised by Grandparents, foster parents
etc. It’s a shame that children/babies can be viewed as that disposable.

Child Endangering.  Tsk tsk tsk.  Babies are precious and to treat such a sweet gift this way is deplorable.

I hope this little gem ends up with a loving family who will cherish her and provide a loving home. God bless you sweet one.

Sadly, no one has mentioned the fact that Ohio has a Safe Haven act in place to prevent such situations from happening.  The mother could have surrendered the newborn to a place that could have properly cared for the child and no questions would have been asked.  In the end it’s about keeping the child safe and giving a mother options when she feels she cannot provide for the infant child.  This case luckily turned out OK.  Education needs to be spread so that the Safe Haven law does what it is intended to do- keep children safe.

No harm, no foul.  The kid is apparently ok, hopefully the mom is too.  Someday the two of them will look back on this and laugh.

Now that it has come out that she is an illegal, she needs deported immediately.  Do not waste any more tax payers dollars.  Put the baby up for adoption and deport the woman that gave birth to the infant…she does not deserve the moniker of “mother”

Wow she must be a saint for having that baby, wrapping it in plastic and leaving it at an abandoned house instead of having an abortion. And how is she only being charged with child endangering? That must be a joke! Why? Since the baby didn’t suffocate on the plastic. She needs to be in jail the rest of her life and be required to get a historectomy. She doesn’t deserve her uterus!
