UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio—Upper Arlington police said they were called to Hastings Middle School last week to document the fact that two students created a fake Facebook page in the name of a third student.

The page contained pornographic videos, NBC 4 reported.

No charges were filed and police said the school handled the incident internally, starting with a three-day suspension.

Landru….

My guess would be that it’s obvious because the artical begins as…

Upper Arlington police said they were called to Hastings Middle School last week to document the fact that two students created a fake Facebook page in the name of a third student.

Why would the police be called to the school if the incident did not happen there?

And it wasn’t Jello who posted that comment. It was posted by Freewill addressed to Jello.

Jello, how is it “obvious”?  There is no mention of it in the article, so you are either making an assumption, or have information not available to NBC 4.

Having grown up in UA, I have to partially agree with Bodie.  UA kids almost never receive anything more than a slap on the wrist; however, I don’t think that violating Facebook’s terms of service would warrant the arrest of a middle-schooler, no matter what part of the city he or she was from.  Frankly, I’m not even sure why this story is newsworthy.

Jello, obviously this is happening at school where the parents cannot monitor their children.  The students bypass the filters at school by accessing Proxy sites.  If a student is caught using the Proxys, action is taken.  Unfortunatley, the students are pretty sly about sneaking around the system.

what exactly would you like the police to charge these kids with? not that it’s the school’s responsibility to handle it either…
these kids are only in middle school, why aren’t the parents monitoring their internet access???

Did you just compare UA to the west side of columbus. Keep it real. There is no criminal charge here either.

Why is this a school matter?

This Is A Bit UNFAIR. Twice we have heard about UA kids being “investigated” by UA Police this week. Once for a group acting like thugs meeting in a park to fight and then these kids. NO ARRESTS.
Had these been Grove City, Hilluard or west side of Columbus or East side kids they would be charged and hauled into juvenile court .. Guess UA kids are better kids ...........
