Reward Offered For Suspect In East-Side Robbery

COLUMBUS, Ohio—A reward is offered for tips in connection with a robbery on the city’s east side this summer.

Police said that on June 27, at about 4 p.m., a woman entered the Hair World Beauty Supply store on East Livingston Avenue.

While inside the store, investigators said, the woman stole an article of clothing. While the store owner attempted to stop the woman from leaving with the stolen merchandise, the suspect began hitting the owner with her fists.

After backing the store owner away from the exit, the suspect turned and walked out of the store with the stolen item.

Officials said the woman is described as a black female in her mid 30s, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds. She was wearing a white tank top, blue jeans and a blue hair wrap.

Police said they believe the suspect fled in a maroon or burgundy Pontiac.

Crime Stoppers has posted a reward of as much as $2,000 for any information received by Sept. 2, 2009, that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of the person(s) responsible for the crime.
