Sawmill Fire In Pike County

PIKE COUNTY, Ohio—Five local fire departments converged on a sawmill in rural Pike County Saturday after a fire broke out.

The fire did substantial damage before it was brought under control, but no one was hurt.

The sheriff’s office in Waverly said that the location on Coal Dock Road and U.S. Route 32 is the site of fire calls from time-to-time because the dust related to cutting wood leads to easy combustion.

Officials were unsure if that was the cause of Saturday’s fire.
