COLUMBUS, Ohio—A medical school said a former employee hacked into its computer system and stole students’ credit-card numbers and students’ tuition was funneled into that same employee’s account. That may not be the whole story, though.

NBC 4’s Mike Bowersock reported on a story that has twists, turns and reasons for raised eyebrows.

American Global University School of Medicine’s Web site makes it sound like a top-notch place to study to become a doctor.

According to the Web site, the school is located in Belize.

So what does this have to do with Columbus and CPD?

The school filed a police report with CPD, claiming students’ tuition was stolen.

A police report lists the school’s address as 118 Graceland Blvd., Suite 311. A UPS store is located at this address, and the school has an UPS box there. Box 311.

“Someone that operates their Web site, somehow, might have changed where that money goes to. I guess perspective students will call, give ‘em a credit-card number and put whatever charges they have to their tuition. And instead of it going towards that school, they went into the gentleman’s coffers,“ CPD officer Betty Schwab said.

Brothers Maher Soudah and Mulik Soudah, who rent Box 311, have both Columbus and Chicago phone numbers.

NBC 4 left several messages with the men Friday with no return calls.
