I am so sorry to hear this news.  Growing up in Columbus, you can’t be without knowing Mr. Crum.  He was a great sportscaster.  I know that all who knew him were better for knowing him.  My prayers to you all, thanks for sharing Mr. Crum with us for so many wonderful years.

Columbus and Central Ohio has lost a special ambassador for our city. It would be impossible to place a value on his efforts for his kids at Recreation Unlimited. Thanks for all you did and God Bless.

My sympathy goes out to his family. I grew up with JImmy. My 16 yr old son is a server at his retirement home and loved him to death. He ask me if I ever heard ofhim, I had to laugh! He served him lunch today and noticed he was not at dinner. H e was the one who told me, he will be deeply missed!

I had the privlege of working with “The Dean” at Channel 4 for several years.  There is no one finer in the sport business than Jimmy.  I will never forget the day we visited Jimmy’s house for his retirement party and I was able to see “THE closet” where all the fashionable sports coats hung.  It was a great moment with a great man.  And it was a large closet!  Jimmy, you’ll be missed…and never equalled.

I am sorry to hear this news. I live in Arkansas now but will always remember what Jimmy did for Special Olympics. When our daughter went to the State Olympics, those were some of the most fun days for her and he was always part of it. He will be missed

I am so sad that Jimmy has left us.. I remember seeing him at Independance High School as he came in to see Crystal Tabor a friend of mine.

I will remember his voice and how passionate he was for the telethons and his love of the kids and for his love of Sports. The sports world as well as the charity world will never be the same. I think when I do my Donation to MDA not only to Robert McNamer, but to Jimmy Crum.. We will love and miss that man forever…

All my love to his family on this night… (crying)

It is a sad day here in central Ohio with Jimmy’s passing. I grew up watching Jimmy’s sports reports and must say that no one else here in central Ohio could compare. I have worked in the Mrdd field for many years, been to the Recreation Unlimited camp and seen the wonderful things Mr.Crum has done for our kids. I had the chance to meet Jimmy during the camp Christmas party a couple years back and must say that he was as generous and kind a person as one would ever want to meet.I have his book and have read it over and over,it being one of my greatest keepsakes.Somewhere in heaven is a wonderful man, proudly wearing a loud colored sports coat and forever watching over his “special Kids”.Jimmy, you will be missed by many but kept in a special place in our hearts which hold fond memories of a special person.Rest well dear friend, until we meet again.

Jimmy Crum -An icon of Columbus and Channel 4.
His words during Ohio State basketball games still ring in my ears. “How about that sports fans!“  He will be missed.

Jimmy Crum was the Columbus sports scene for many years for me as a youngster. His colorfull jacket made sports fun, his delivery straight forward and entertaining for many. A legend has moved on, like true passion in sports itself. The Crum family can rest easy knowing he was unique. ...How about that sports fans?!! His voice still echoes…
