Teacher Pleads Not Guilty To Statutory Rape

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.
A former Holyoke elementary school teacher who ran off with one of her students has pleaded not guilty to three counts of aggravated rape and abuse and three counts of statutory rape.
Her attorney, David Hoose, said Wednesday that 24-year-old Lisa Lavoie (lah-VOY) was arraigned in Hampden Superior Court on Tuesday. He says the charges were not unexpected.
Lavoie and the 15-year-old student were reported missing Feb. 16 and were found a week later at a West Virginia motel.
Lavoie pleaded not guilty in Holyoke District Court in March to a charge of enticing a minor under the age of 16.
Lavoie - who’s has been fired from her job at a Holyoke elementary school - is out on $25,000 bail.
Hoose says Lavoie is “very upset by the whole experience that she went through.“

Yes I think most teens would love to run off with an older atrractive established individual. This is why adults know better than indulging on the impulse and naiveness of a young person.
If I had this chance at 15 to run off with an attractive 24yr old teacher I would have done it, no question in my mind
Laura, the boy is in fact developing his own paced sexuality. It just happens to be a different pace than yours. Probably most everyone’s is.
If the kid is traumatized, it’s by the authorities blowing things all out of proportion, rather than the (probably idyllic) affair itself.
Mike, that is the point she being an educator knows that this was inapropriate behavior. I can’t imagine any young boy turning down a fling with an older woman, unless that is not his thing. Lavoie obviously has no children either as she felt no harm in taking the child out of state while his parents had no clue as to if he was safe.
I hope the parents push to have every charge possible filed against this woman. This behavior is unacceptable and women need to learn that they are not an exception to the rule.
I have witnessed a similar situation such as this, but the girl had children with the boy while he was 14 and nags at him to be responsible.
LMAO, was she leading by example when she decided to have unprotected intercourse with the boy? What is going through these womens minds?
I guess I will never understand, I have always preferred a man.
She should be charged with kidnapping too.This boy has been denied the right to develop his own paced sexuality,hopefully with someone close to his own age.
It’s just like the men that go after underage girls-much easier to impress a youth than to impress someone your own age.

That is so disgusting. He is a boy, what could he have that attracts a grown woman. Amazing, I will never understand what makes these woman feel that they need to ruin young boys. She works and pays bills while he is suppose to enjoy his teenage years. I can only imagine what she was expecting to get out of him. Probably one of those types of woman that if she were to get pregnant, she’d expect this boy to turn into a man overnight.

I know Jayb, wonder why that never happened when I was in school…course I never really had any teachers I would want to sleep with, just a couple hot student teachers
I don’t know if it’s just because of the internet and how much more easily news stores get distributed nationwide, but the last 5 years sure seem to have a heck of a lot of teachers running off/having sex with their students. And surprisingly, most are female teachers/male students.
