Two Women Die In Trailer Fire On Halloween
COLUMBUS GROVE, Ohio—Authorities are investigating to find the cause of a trailer fire in northwest Ohio that killed two women and a pet on Halloween.
According to Shane Cartmill, with the state fire marshal’s office, two women died in a mobile home fire in Putnam County early on Halloween, becoming the state’s 98th and 99th fire fatalities of the year.
The fire occurred on the day when fire officials urge people to exchange batteries in home smoke alarms.
The unidentified women, one in her 20s and the other in her 60s , were found in the trailer after firefighters brought the blaze under control.
A pet dog also died in the fire, which was shooting out the windows of the trailer when firefighters arrived.
Three people and a second dog escaped safely.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
