Westerville Resident Spots 7-Year-Old Runaway

WESTERVILLE, Ohio—A citizen spotted a 7-year-old runaway Sunday evening and ended a search for the boy.

At 6 p.m., the boy’s family reported him missing to Westerville police after a 45-minute search.

On-duty officers, personnel from all three Westerville fire stations, the Columbus police chopper, other Westerville city employees and civilian volunteers searched the area until 8:15 p.m. 

An individual spotted him and flagged down a passing city worker who brought him to the police department.

After a brief interview there, the boy was reunited with his family.
