Westerville Teen Charged In Pedestrian’s Death

WESTERVILLE, Ohio—A teenager was charged with one count of vehicular homicide Thursday.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Westerville police charged 16-year-old William L. Hall of Westerville with one delinquency count of vehicular homicide after a pedestrian was fatally struck Thursday, July 2.

Todd Baker, 46, was struck by a Hall’s vehicle at Farthing Drive and North Otterbein Avenue, according to Westerville police.

Hall’s vehicle left the roadway, drove on to the sidewalk and struck Baker from the rear as he walked northbound on Otterbein Avenue, police said.

Baker was transported to OSU Medical Center by MedFlight and died later that evening.

Baker’s injuries included blunt-force trauma to the head, chest and legs from direct contact with the vehicle’s bumper and windshield.

Hall was uninjured in the crash.

Hall was interviewed immediately after the crash at police headquarters and later released to his family.
