Whitehall Marine Accused Of Attempted Murder

NORTH CAROLINA—Marine Corporal Jonathan Gould has been charged with attempted first degree murder of his wife Erin Prince Gould.  According to deputies in North Carolina, Jonathan Gould made a 911 call in the early hours of the morning and claimed someone attacked him outside of his home and then brutally beat his wife.  But upon the deputies’ arrival and investigation of the scene, Gould allegedly was the one who hit his wife in the head with a hammer, then apparently stabbed himself with a paring knife.  He is currently in jail under a one million dollar bond.  His wife, who is pregnant, is listed in critical but stable condition in a North Carolina Hospital.
