Man Reportedly Propositions Girl At Bus Stop
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A man reportedly approached a middle-school student at her bus stop Friday morning, and NBC 4’s Mike Bowersock talked to the girl about her dangerous experience.
Twelve-year-old Brittany Eblin, who attends Finland Middle School, was at her bus stop when a man pulled up in a Nissan, opened the door and invited the girl into his vehicle.
"He opens his window and says, 'Hey,' and opens his door, takes off his seatbelt and says, 'Hey baby, you can come with me,'"Elvin said.
Brittany screamed and ran to a nearby relative’s home.
Mike Cline, Brittany's relative, followed the suspect in his car, blocked him and called the police.
Brittany believes she’s seen the man hanging around the bus stop at Rivercliff Road and Creekside Drive before.
The suspect, Abduvahid Tillaev, is in police custody and charged with one count of child enticement -- a first-degree misdemeanor.
Bowersock said police are waiting on a Russian interpreter so that the suspect can be interviewed.
