BEXLEY, Ohio -- Three people are in the hospital this morning after a high-speed chase that involved police, NBC 4 reported.

Bexley Police said a man and a woman were at the drive-thru window at National City Bank on Main Street when they tried to unsuccessfully pass a bad check. The couple drove off at a high rate of speed, according to NBC 4's on-the-scene photojournalist Salt Williams.

Bexley Police were pursuing the car when it hit a van at the intersection of Eastmoor Boulevard and East Mound Street and ended up on its top.

The male driver of the pursued car ran off and was taken into custody a couple blocks away, police said. He was taken to Grant Medical Center, Brown reported. His female companion and the female driver of the van were taken to Mount Carmel East.
