District Considers Adding Cameras Inside Buildings
[dateline] -- Public schools have been equipped with video surveillance systems for years, and a local district is looking at taking the plunge to add cameras.
While the systems can increase safety and security, they also come with a hefty price tag, leaving districts to take a hard look at its bottom line.
Discussions have started among the school board, suggesting adding surveillance cameras inside every building in the Worthington City School district, NBC 4's Matt Alvarez reported.
The Worthington City Schools representative said that merely discussion has entered into the last school board meeting and that actually following through with such action may be far down the road.
But, questions still loom about the cost of the cameras and if there is enough funding to afford the costly measure.
